Homewood / Tahoma

August 20, 2008

Homewood and Tahoma lie on Lake Tahoe’s West shore. Further North is Homewood, which features the Homewood Ski Mountain. Many claim that Homewood’s snow is the best around, as it has won the title for “Best Powder” several times! Although it is one of the oldest ski areas around the Lake, it remains a local’s treasure - with a lot of tree skiing, and plenty of powder, the skier “in the know” can find powder stashes many days after a storm!

Tahoma is further to the West, and one of the last major communities before headed down to the South Shore. Both Homewood and Tahoma get lots of snow in the wintertime, and they both have some of the oldest homes in this area of the Lake. Truly the “Old Tahoe” area, the West Shore offers a special feel and gorgeous Lake views.
